We received acceptance by our agency a few days ago - WACAP and will hopefully begin our homestudy in the next couple weeks! We have been getting together birth certificates (which can be difficult with Joseph being from the Philippines!), marriage certificates, passport renewals, and reading lots of books! The Lord has given us the desire to adopt a young girl from Ethiopia. Anywhere from baby to age 4 - we want Him to choose specifically what age He wants us to bring into our family.
I know this is just the beginning of what can be a long journey, but we are filled with so much anticipation as we know God has led each step of the way! He has brought in an incredible amount of money for the adoption - we basically need only about $9,000 more! The kids are excited. We have talked with them and processed with them the past couple years so it is wonderful to have them be a part of seeing God move and provide!
A few nights ago I caught them gathered in one room praying (when they were suppose to be sleeping)... but how could we be upset as they told us "We were praying for the adoption!"
It has been a long journey over the past 5 years of prayer and waiting upon the Lord in the passion He has put upon our hearts to adopt. As many of you know, after 3.5 years of desiring to adopt from Ethiopia the Lord redirected our steps and our hearts to India. To help others know more of our story of adopting we posted some of the process we have been through these past years and the process we are in now...hope you enjoy and this journey brings all glory to our God!
"And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8
