Happy Birthday Little One!

The day before Thanksgiving was our little one's birthday.  Four years old... It was a day of mixed emotions.  Wishing we were together to celebrate her special day and yet thankful that we know we will all be together soon.  We celebrated by attempting to go out to Indian food (but realized the restaurant was closed early for Thanksgiving holiday when we arrived there!) We spent the evening looking at the pictures we have of her and sharing as a family this adoption journey we have been on together.  We talked with the kids about the process and how the Lord has carried us through each step and now as we look back we can see His perfect purposes in the wait and the journey.  We are eagerly looking forward to celebrating her next birthday together!

As we continue to wait for our final approval the Lord continues to prepare us and bless us in this waiting time.  Last week we had the blessing of going out to dinner with a family that a friend put us in touch with.  This family also adopted a sweet little girl from India, it took them 5 years (as ours has), they are missionaries and their little girl is deaf.   We met at a Chick-Fil-A so the kids could play and I was holding back tears of joy so often throughout the night.  To spend time with a family who had walked a similar journey as us and to watch my kids do sign language with their daughter melted my heart.  Our kiddos were so wonderful.  They spent hours with their little girl playing on the playground and signing with her!  Practicing all they have learned and asking her to teach them other signs.  It is amazing how quickly they have picked up sign language.  Our 40+ year old brains are slowly learning and working hard but the kids just absorb it all and are doing so wonderful!  It melted my heart to see my kids so excited to play with a child who was deaf and it was a true blessing to be with this family.

Please continue to pray that we would receive our final approval soon!  We were told we would two weeks ago but continue to wait.  We are so thankful for all the Lord is doing in our lives as we wait and the special blessings He sends our way.
