April 16, 2016 - Our family entered a plane to fly to India to bring our precious daughter home at last! We formed a Facebook private page to document our time in India - but now I wanted to update it here.... to bring a completion of this precious blog we held unto for over 5 years... A place to process and share our hearts through this emotional process...
April 17, 2016 - After 20+ hours we have arrived in Hyderabad! Crashing into bed trying to adjust to the time difference, but so excited to be here! These kids were AMAZING travelers!!April 18, 2016 - So happy right now! We will be meeting our girl for the first time tomorrow at 11am! AND We just heard our court date is this Thursday!! Please keep us in your prayers as meeting her will be so emotional for us all. Pray also for her as she may be scared, nervous, confused. And please pray that court would be smooth!!!
April 19, 2016 - Had an amazing day today meeting our little girl! Thank you for all your prayers... We were able to spend the entire day with her and it was more than we dreamed..She warmed up quickly, we talked and signed together, she laughed and laughed with the kids, played with us and showed us her spunky fun personality. Hearing her call us mommy and daddy and hugging her overwhelmed our hearts... Feeling overwhelmed with the day and it is hard to put into words the joy we are feeling. Wish we could post pictures but can't until she is officially ours after court...
April 20, 2016 - Please pray for court tomorrow! We will be there by 10:30 but wait all day to see the judge. Please pray for a smooth process, favor by the judge and a quick processing of the paperwork so we can officially become the parents of our girl.
April 21, 2016 - We passed court!!
April 23, 2016 - Thank you for your continual prayers for us! Please be praying for the written court orders to be completed by Tuesday. Once we have those we are able to have custody of Sahithi and can apply for her passport to bring her home. We are really praying we can have those by Tuesday.
April 24, 2016 - We have loved each and every moment we have been able to spend with Sahithi connecting and bonding. Experiencing her home with her, getting to know her friends and seeing her world. Words can never fully express the feelings of gratitude and love we have.
April 26, 2016 - Please be praying for our written court orders. We were hoping to have them by now but are still waiting. We cannot take Sahithi into our custody or apply for a passport for her until we have them. The courts are closed for all of May so we are praying hard for them to come before the end of this week. Please intercede with us!!
We did have a blessed time tonight taking Sahithi out for dinner. It is hard to continue to say goodbye each night to her.
April 28, 2106 - We got the writtens!! Praise God!!! We can bring her home!! Thank you soooo much for all your prayers!!
April 29, 2016 - These past 2 weeks have been amazing. We have had the true blessing of entering into Sahithi's foster home and getting to know her foster brothers, sisters and foster moms and Ayahs. It has changed our lives forever and we feel like we will be leaving a huge part of our hearts here with these children and amazing foster moms/Ayahs. We will miss them greatly. Sarahs Covenant Home is an amazing ministry - Sarah's Covenant Homes and everyone of these children would be a blessing to a forever family.
April 30, 2016 - Update!! We spent all day yesterday (Friday) waiting at the passport office here in Secunderabad, then drove to a different passport office we were transferred to and we believe we completed the process there and hopefully will receive the passport Monday! Please pray we receive it Monday and can fly to New Delhi on Tuesday to start the visa process! Thank you for your continual prayers!!
April 30, 2016 - " Give honor where honor is due " Romans 13:7 Many times in life we stand on the shoulders of those who have gone before us ! We would like to introduce you to the 3 foster moms that have cared for and loved our daughter deeply. Today they gave her a goodbye party and prayed for our family. We could never repay them for how they have poured their lives into our daughter, she learned how to love and how to be loved deeply by them. Our gratitude to them is beyond words. From the bottom of our hearts we thank and honor them for their lives and commitment !
May 2, 2016 - Still waiting on passports... Just found out they were not completed today (Monday), hopefully tomorrow. I think this hotel thinks we now live here! Please pray we will receive them tomorrow and can fly to New Delhi on Wednesday to begin the visa process.
May 5, 2016 - Calendar symbolizes how fast things move here. Still stuck at March. Still waiting for the passport. Told we will receive it "with certainty" tomorrow (Friday). Please pray it is so.
May 6, 2016 - After a CRAZY day we got the passport!! Praise God! Thank you for all your prayers!! Flying to New Delhi in the morning!!
May 6, 2016 - We made it to New Delhi! Our little one did amazing after waking up at 2:30am to make our flight and her first time in a plane! She was so excited, not scared at all and HATED the seatbelt! Not used to seatbelts here. Glad to be here and off to do her medical exam soon!

Had our follow-up doctor visit today and she passed the tb test! Tomorrow morning we have the US embassy appointment for receiving her visa. Moving forward! "Singing for Joy!"
May 10, 2016 - We have had continual non-stop God working reminders throughout this trip. We truly do feel overwhelmed and we have so much to process still in reflecting on God's goodness to us while here. One huge blessing was walking through this process with new friends in this adoption world! We met online in this adoption process beforehand and now have become great friends in person! JOne mom paved the way for us as we were arriving and another have walked side by side with us through it all! Doing life together in Hyderabad (court together, same advocate, passports, the unknowns of it all) and now even in Delhi we have done our medical exams, visa and exit permit together! It has been wonderful and we are so thankful for our new friendships!!
May 10, 2016 - Two out of three steps completed!! Received the visa today! Just the Exit Permit left and we are coming home!!
May 11, 2016 - Finished the Exit Permits today!! Just spent a LONG, HOT day at the 2 offices we had to go to, was yelled at, and completed the process!! So thankful for this last, hardest step in New Delhi completed. Our children are amazing troopers through it all. We are flying home Friday!!!
May 13, 2016 - After a LONG 2 hour international customs line in Delhi, poor Daniel getting sick throughout the entire time in line and the first plane leaving an hour late - we flew to Abu Dhabi and missed our connecting flight. Was switched around and have now landed in New York! Bummed to not be in Los Angeles yet but we will be there by midnight tonight - so happy to be in America!! Sahi is an American citizen now!!
May 14, 2016 - Home again at last! After traveling for about 36 hours we made it home! Soooo thankful for my mom,and 2 great friends who drove all the way to LAX to pick us up and then we felt so loved by friends who had blessed us with food and gifts in our home to welcome us back. Such a blessing as multiple of us are fighting Delhi belly now and not feeling well at all.
